About Colony Club

This is an ideal choice for a stylish and informal place to stay on the west coast of Barbados. The rooms are arranged around four lagoon-style swimming pools that meander through palm-dotted, tropical gardens down to a pretty white-sand beach. The smart and bright bedrooms, most with coral-stone walls and light-coloured wood ceilings, are spread over the property’s seven acres. We especially like the Luxury Poolside rooms, which have private access from their balcony or patio with steps to one of the lagoon pools.

Dining options include seafood and continental fare in the open-air, poolside Laguna Restaurant, and, on certain nights each week, lobster and jazz and a Bajan fish grill on the Sunset Deck beside the ocean and the beach. The Colony Club is part of the Elegant Hotels group, and guests staying half board or full board can dine at Tamarind, another of the group’s hotels, at no extra cost. Free water taxi rides are available during the day between the Colony Club and Tamarind, and Elegant Hotels’ other west-coast properties.

The Colony Club suits almost everyone and with suites that can sleep four, children’s menus, complimentary watersports galore, that include waterskiing, and a children’s club, it is very popular with families during school holidays. However most guests are couples who love the romantic setting, relaxed atmosphere and good choice of places to eat and drink beneath the stars.

The Colony Club lies just outside Holetown, just a short taxi ride or around a 10-minute stroll, to the many restaurants, bars and shops there.
